It's one thing to play 60s 'mod' music, but it's another to have  an original mod in Carnaby Street !  Roger is originally from the North East and was gigging with a group called 'Jazzboard' in the mid 60s.  Playing sax for them, Roger was in good company, the drummer being Nigel Olsen who went on to work with Elton John.  Keyboards were played by Jimmy Hall who subsequently  worked with Kiki Dee and was very much rated by Elton - praise indeed.  Very sadly, Jimmy had his life taken from him on Christmas Eve last year whilst building a bar in Thailand.

Jazzboard supported many bands at that time, including the Small Faces and The Who, and Roger is a lifelong fan of 'mod cred' music, particularly Motown and soul, including Philly sounds.

From a musical family, Roger plays sax, flute, bass guitar and keyboards and has the biggest 'mod wardrobe' of any of us!  He might be 'mod'est, but check out his ability to play sax and keys at the same time in Echo Beach!  Very talented guy and a good bloke, great to have him on board.
